Wedgewood By The Northern Key

Official Album Release date 4/20/2023

Album Description:

The 10 tracks that comprise “Wedgewood” are a collaborative effort led by singer/songwriter Andrew Galluccio and guitarist/producer Jason Goessl. Spanning a range of lyrical topics and musical techniques, “Wedgewood” is a testament to the depth art can reach by group effort.

Combining indie rock and alt country elements, “Through & Through” draws the listener into memories of spending time with a significant other. Using layered guitars and driving drums, as Andrew Galluccio’s unique voice dances in the pocket, “Through & Through” serves up a subtle blend of genres with evocative nostalgia.

Using an eclectic blend of styles, “Worth Your Weight” playfully compasses the sweet, complex feelings of anticipation for someone’s arrival.

“Fun & Joy” brings the listener on a thoughtful, meditative journey through memories of a breakup. As the lyrics bring fond memories in sharp relief, the difficult ones lose focus, all while guitar and violin cascade over gentle waves of rhythm.

“Soak” portrays someone waiting in the rain for a friend with a gently trotting tempo that keeps time for fresh guitar lines and an enchanting melody. The tension grows until the friend arrives in a cathartic cascade of relief.

A gem that employs elements of Indie and Alternative rock, “Roadmap” carries the listener from the baggage of the past to the openness of a bright future with a driving melody and accompaniment.

Sometimes visiting with people stirs up tension, but their departure causes unexpected sorrow. “The Charmer” portrays this seemingly inconsistent emotional quality with a pensive melody and a wistful string and guitar accompaniment.

Fusing elements of indie folk and alt country, “CC” induces a mood of hope and acceptance while pondering having romantic feelings for a friend.

An indie folk gem, “Regression” depicts feelings of romantic loss and resignation through sparse instrumentation and a pensive melody.

This blend of indie rock and emo captures a curious, somber mood that maintains an element of hopefulness. With impressionistic lyrics and dancing guitar and string parts, “Three Days” pulls the listener in with its subtle, moody textures.

The instrumental meditation “Accelerated” depicts the feeling of returning home from a road trip. Guitar swells and skipping tones form a pad for the ethereal vocals that rise and fall in waves, creating a sense of closure and contentment.
