Drum & Drone Volume One By Relaxatone

Official Album Release date 03/03/2023

Album Description:

This new collaboration between guitarist Jason Goessl and drummer Adrian Van Batenburg explores new territories in the world of psychedelic ambient sounds. Deviating from the indica effects of the original Relaxatone works, “Drum & Drone” Volume 1 offers an elevated approach to focus music with a strong sativa influence on forward thinkers, entrepreneurs, and students of all ages.

Combining the curative effects of Relaxatone’s ambient frequency 174hz with drummer Adrian Van Batenburg’s unique and rhythmic beats has been a home-run collaboration for these 2 artists. With this track “One Seven Four” the artists explore the healing properties of 174hz staying true to the title of the project “Drum & Drone”. Not only does this piece encourage concentration and emotional stability, it is also said to relieve physical pain making this the perfect backdrop for yoga or physical therapy.

More and more these days people are aware of and protect their sense of inner peace and zen. It’s a phenomenon that has gone viral infiltrating Gen Z and even getting the concept through to kids in Gen Alpha! This is a trend we can really get behind with new music from ambient genius Relaxatone and his collaborative partner Adrian Van Batenburg. Their latest track, “Two Eight Five” is the anthem for this current tide of medicinal music and if you aren’t hip to ancient solfeggio frequencies (like 285hz) and the myriad of personal benefits, you’d better get yourself ready for the tsunami because it’s coming in the form of “Drum & Drone: Vol. I”.

Jason Goessl and Adrian Van Batenburg are no strangers. They’ve participated in many musical projects together and have fostered a bond that has lasted decades. When “Drum & Drone” was first imagined, it just made sense that these 2 would collaborate and this track “Three Nine Six” truly shows the strong connection these artists have cultivated. The rhythmic pulse Van Batenburg has installed over the multiple frequencies Goessl has created really exemplifies the main benefit of frequency 396hz: giving power to your goals. Partnerships are not easy, but listening to this entire collection, they certainly make it sound like effortless mastery.

If there’s one thing we could all benefit from, that would be the dispelling of negative energies. The frequency of 417hz is said to not only clear your mind of negative thoughts, but also help relieve past trauma and guide the listener to a more positive outcome. We cannot change the past, but we can look differently at the past and ascend to a higher vibration to facilitate change, create healing, and promote calmness of the mind. I did some field recordings while I was decompressing in the forest outside of Big Sky, MT with my wife and I think the effect really added a feeling of zen to this track. If you listen carefully, you can hear footsteps on a path laden with crisp fall leaves and the sounds of birds throughout the song. Adrian’s intentional placement of the drum beats really makes this song stand out and intensifies the notion of “dancing to the beat of your own drum” giving the listener a feeling of inner strength.

Artist Statement:

With the increasing need for focus in this age of ADHD, never-ending to-do lists, and constant notifications “Drum & Drone” has been my zen. This new variation from Relaxatone features the same ancient solfeggio frequencies played on guitar with an added elevation of drum tracks to create more of a sativa effect on forward thinkers, entrepreneurs, and students of all ages.

Artist Bio:

Drum & Drone: Vol 1 is a collection of collaborative works between Jason Goessl of Relaxatone and Seattle drummer/percussionist/composer Adrian Van Batenburg. In this new series, healing/restorative music is created by using open guitar tunings synced to Ancient Solfeggio Frequencies combined with intentional rhythmic beats to produce an active new genre: “Psychedelic Ambient”. Goessl created the signature Relaxatone vibe back in 2020 with the intention of relieving stress and trauma in the face of difficult times. The curative qualities of this frequency-based music has been recognized all over the world and Relxatone has since seen its share of success in the medicinal music scene with many of his tracks being used for yoga classes, reiki and physical therapy. Van Batenburg is a consistent performer in the Pacific Northwest music community across multiple musical genres. Using his incredible talents for good, he gains influences from jazz, pop music, and African rhythms as a basis for his variety of performances. While the drumset is his primary instrument where he creates a wide range of sounds and emotions (like with legendary instrumental supergroup Gems), auxiliary percussion instruments provide him with textures needed to enhance his musical expression and the listener’s experience.
